Arrive Broome and transfer to accommodation. Free afternoon to explore the town and meet other members of the tour group.
After Breakfast the day begins with a visit to the Red Dirt Photography Gallery where you will get some inspiration for the coming week. We then drive 100km North to James Price Point where the Red Pindan cliffs meet the stunning blue ocean in an explosion of colour.
Today we head for the Dampier Peninsula, an extraordinary blend of pristine beaches and dramatic coastlines. This area is rich in traditional Aboriginal culture. As we drive in 4WDs our guide will offer commentary about the regions fascinating history. We stop at Beagle bay Aboriginal Community to see the Beagle bay Church with its glimmering pearl shell alter and for morning tea.Further north we reacj Cape Leveque to set up camp at Kooljaman, right on the edge of the Indian Ocean. Photographing the Kimberley sunset is a great way to end the day before a BBQ under the stars.. and maybe some camp fire and night sky photography?
Explore Cape Leveque, the beaches and the rugged coastline as you please during the morning, go swimming and snorkeling perhaps. After lunch we cross the peninsula to visit Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, Austalia's oldest pearl farm before we take a cruise through the Islands of the Giant Tides. We return to Kooljaman Camp for the night.
We return to the mainland and travel to One Arm Point Community which is at the top of the Dampier Peninsula to visit the communities aqua culture hatchery. Further south we enjoy lunch in the laid-back Lombadina Community which is home to an interesting bush timber church. We arrive back in Broome for 5pm.
The evening is yours to explore, relax or try some night photography around the town.
Today we explore Broome on a guided tour and learn much about the history, visiting local places of interest including a walk to Gantheaume Point known for its dinosaur footprints. Last afternoon we drive down to Roebuck Bay to see and photograph the famous staircase to the moon.
We set off early to travel through the remote and beautiful landscape. Our guide will share stories of local history, the people and the environment. We have morning tea at the Willare Roadhouse on the mighty Fitzroy River. Visit Myalls Bore and the notorius Derby Boab Prison Tree, a relic of some cultural sensitivity due to its use as a prison for local Aboriginals during the pioneer era.
On to Windjana GorgeThe perfect place to experince the stunning outback beauty. We could see freshwater crocodiles and other local wildlife. After lunch we explore Tunnel Creek a 750 cave system where we learn of the legend of Jandamarra an Aboriinal freedom fighter who used these tunnels as a hideout in the late 1800's Make sure you have your togs and towel for a refreshing swim in an idylic waterfall.
At sunset we are at the historical ruins of Lillimooloora Station to appreciate what life would have been like during the early white settlement era.
Then its back to Broome and maybe a stop for dinner of the way.
In the morning after breakfastits time to check out and farewell to broome as our coach transfers us to the airport.
